Business? I would be evaluating the cost structure to allow for a new truck purchase every 4 to 6 years. Do you have any business or auto insurance that covers a major equipment breakdown?
Sometimes the working situation can turn into a gongshow.... I'm living that one now. Things are not always as they seem, especially when one offers their services to a less than honorable company.
I have made plans for things such as truck replacement but in my trade it can go sideways quickly. I'll leave that alone now.
I do, however, tend to keep my vehicles a very long time and try to look after them. Though this truck is starting to cost me now, the cost of repairs over the years has been virtually nothing. One glow plug in 300,000K until an injector pump. Now its costing me in repairs.
I bought a 78 Chev 3/4 ton Camper Special new in 78. Over half a million on the clock when, 26 years later, I replaced it.
But yeah, I'm overdue on replacing it. Going to get after that asap. Going to fix the engine, then look at selling and upgrading.
No to the insurance question. Costs too much money for the return. Don't even know if such insurance exists in Canada.
