Blocking window light and heat ?

Our trailers windows have shades that don't block all the light and definitely not the heat. To make the bedroom darker and to help with cooling, we've been using those round fold-out car windshield shades. We stick one between the shade and the glass. It works....kinda....

it doesn't always cover the window, falls down and looks. .... Well... tacky

Has anyone found a good product for this? Maybe something like the door sun shade held on by Velcro. We have that on the door, but what can be used on all the other windows?

The car sun shades work well with the foil outside to reflect heat. But this can't be the best solution
  • I put Reflex insulation over my windows for a while. It works great at both insulation and does not let light through. I even had a 18' long piece that covered my entire windshield, from one 4' window on the drivers side to the other on the passenger side. I bought a roll 75' X 4' tall. I think that places like Home Depot can get 50' X 4' tall. Air conditioning supply houses have 125 and 75' rolls for insulating air ductwork.

  • Seems like I remember seeing a "black-out" fabric at JoAnn's Fabric. Bearing in mind that this is an old brain, no guarantees, but seems like it. You might also check online for something like this by doing a search for drapery black-out lining. You could use the sticky Velcro or put grommets in several places and put up just a very small nail or even a push pin to hold it in place.
