Blowing Fuses

15 amp fuses blowing when we hook up to power. Now they blow when we try to replace them. We can't even get one in the slot. Any ideas what causes this and what to do about it. Thanks for any responses.
  • May be a short from your converter if everything works when disconnected from shore power. If all the 15 amp fuses blow, I'd start with the panel. Good luck.
  • Something is shorted in the circuit/s. Something, maybe wired backwards?

Disconnect shore power and start a process of elimination.

Look for loose wires and evidence of sparking, in or around the fuse panel.

Any screws or nails installed where they may have shorted wires?

Any places where ice or water may be shorting the wires?

Anything plugged into a 12 volt outlet? A 12 volt hair dryer with an internal short, could cause fuse to blow in the panel.

Your post sounds like the problem is with multiple circuits. How many and which ones? Is it all of them?
  • What fuses? Any chance the battery is installed backwards?

What has changed since the last time you used it? May want to undo or check anything that you have done since then. Possibly a broken wire touching the frame somewhere. I agree probably a short since it is blowing instantly and not slowly. JMT
