Boondocking in Tx.

Traveling from Prescott, Az to South Padre Island Tx. Taking 10, 90 and then 83 South to route 100. I know about Rest areas along 10 and Tx stops areas. Any more for this frugal TC traveler?

If you need a overnight spot just west of Las Cruces NM there's a nice rest stop that has RV spots on the east bound side. Then in Fort Stockton TX there's a Walmart, when we stopped, there were about 20 rigs there so we felt safe.
  • Frugal?? With a campsite ranging anywhere from $40 to over $100 every night it gets pretty expensive.

    Try looking here.

  • My experience is that BLM land, or any suitable boondocking land, is hard to come by in TX. So much of the land is privately owned.

But, it's a big state, and I haven't been on some of that particular route. I did find some near BB park.
