Bought our first RV: 2015 Puma 26RLSS
This past week, we bought our first RV. After reading all the posts about poor build quality, poor dealer warranty service, and warranties not worth the paper they are written on, we chose to go with a lightly used, well cared for travel trailer.
We had a great purchasing experience at Kansas RV Center in Chanute, Ks. After talking to a sales rep there for a while, he then showed us several used travel trailers that exactly fit our needs and budget. We went back up last week to pick it up. They had 3 service men spend nearly 3 hours with us on the PDI, and showing us how to operate all the features. I took notes, but my mind was still mush. After the purchase, we took it across the street to a city-owned RV park, and stayed in it for 2 nights. I had trouble getting the load leveling hitch all unhooked, so I called them. They sent 2 service men right over to assist me. Friday, after a couple of days of camping, we packed up and headed home,400 miles south. We did not have any issues with the RV during our time there, or on the trip home. The guys at Kansas RV Center treated us like family.
My wife and I are now planning our next road trip, hopefully in August.
With all the terrible stories about bad purchasing experiences, I am happy to report our buying experience went perfectly fine, thanks to the great people at Kansas RV Center.
FYI: There are 13 RV sales lots within 15 miles of our home. I would not trust, nor deal with any of them, thus the 400 mile trip north.
