brake assembly and grease seal for Forest River Vibe 308BHS?

I have a 2016 Forest River Vibe 308BHS. I need to replace the brake assembly on one wheel and also want to replace the grease seal while I'm at it. Does anyone know the size of these parts or part numbers? The brake assembly is a Truryde. Thanks.

More than likely Lippert axles. 10"X2-1/4" brakes. Etrailer 10"X2-1/4" brakes.

    Is it not under warranty?

Maybe not, as he could of purchased a 2016 as early as March or April of 2015. Add to that the extreme amount of time most people experience with Forest River and their warranty for approvals etc. Maybe the OP does not feel like losing weeks or months of use for a backing plate and grease seal which FR probably would deny coverage on regardless.

As far as Lippert Axles having interchangeable bearings and seals with Dexter, that is sometimes but not always
the case. Lippert loves to change things around. We have had some Lippert Axles come into the shop recently that we had one hell of a time finding bearings for. Lipperts MO is, at least since Jr took over, to make replacement parts proprietary. Then they make you pay through the nose for them.
  • My 826VFK Vibe uses Lippert components however the Dexter replacement brakes and bearings are the same. There should be a sticker on your axle that will give you a model number. You can't go wrong following 73guna's advice. I have found some local trailer parts cheaper than etrailer.
  • What is the listed GAWR on the yellow sticker, I found one online although a 2015 that shows 4400 lbs GAWR.

A 4400 use 10" X 2 1/4" brakes and grease seals would be K71-303-00 assuming they are Dexter Axles which is what I think FR used. That's just an educated guess. Now if they by chance used Lippert axles forget all that.

Crawl under and get the number off the axle tube, email that to Etrailer, and they'll hook you up.
  • Pull a brake assembly off and drum and take it to a local trailer/axle parts supplier.
Dont forget the grease if you plan to repack the bearings.
I just did this with my 2016 31qbts.
