Hullavator by Thule is a wonderful thing. Stopped bringing my tandem 15' kayak bevause of the hassle.
Since the Hullavator, the kayak comes every time. Quite expensive and may not fit your rig but I thought I'd mention it in case it works for you.
If you do decide to get one, make sure you get the new model they just released a month ago.
