Locally, plexi is cheaper. I had a small window that needed to be replaced in my other trailer. Cost me about $60 for the plexi. Tempered glass would have been over $100.
Plexy around my area is very expensive..
The window I had done in tempered glass would have cost me $100 for a 4x4 ft sheet.
Then I would have to carefully trace, cut and fit all while hoping I don't break it.
Seems to me that even in your case, $100 for tempered glass (which IS a permanent fix) is not all that bad of a deal.
Not long ago, someone else posed the question and after lots of back and forth on the forum they decided to go with tempered glass.. They didn't have to do a bunch of fitting Glass shop did all the work except the installation of the frame into the trailer)and the cost in the end was nearly the same as plexy..
I keep my stuff a long time so to me glass is a more permanent fix..
