After visiting Overland Expo West 2016 recently this was very cool to see. The Buder EXP-6 starts at $105,550 AUD, so call it about $80K USD at the current exchange rate once you factor in shipping. Probably not a whole lot of takers for that, but keep in mind that a Global X Survival Basics box (does not include truck) is double that, so it starts to look pretty reasonable when comparing to other options.
There are ways to do it cheaper though and get a lot of capability. My friend is buying a recently imported Unimog with a steel ambulance box on it for about $40K. He will spend another $10K to outfit the box. This is probably why there were ZERO full-sized standup TT's at the Expo. Lots of teardrops, but the most comparable US offroad TT manufacturer VMI was not there for some reason. The VMI Alpine starts at $36K, but you will probably add about $10K in options.
My approach is to use the TT as a base camp and do the more serious off-road stuff with the tow vehicle. I don't have it yet, but my new Escape 19 will be only 7' wide and with a lift should have good enough ground clearance to get into some nice spots slightly off the main roads. I used to do that with my old 8' wide trailer but this new one will be easier.
