Bucket List
Well we finally got a major item off our bucket list. Yesterday we got home from a 5 week, 10,948 mile road trip to Alaska and back. Granddaughter graduated from high school in norther Calif., no not San Francisco, Yreaka, really northern California. Since we had to be that far from home we figured what the heck it's only a few more miles. Up the Cassiar across the Top of the World to Chicken Ak. Then to visit friends in Anchorage and Hope and started the return trip via Fairbanks and down the Alaskan highway. Dawson Creek, Edmonton, Calgary and back in the states. Absolutely a trip of a lifetime. Having flown up a few years ago and spending 2 weeks in a rental car doing all the normal stuff. We just had to go back and explore some of the brush you look down on from the airplane. I've kicked around the Rockies and western states for the past 30-40 years and thought I'd been in some pretty desolate country. After this trip, I have a new definition of "in the brush". I did have to congratulate the lady at Liard Hot Springs, at $7.51 per gallon, she charged the highest price for diesel fuel of anywhere we had traveled. A full $0.55 per liter above anyone else.
