Hot, hot water and soap. The camper shell's ambient temperature will cool the first and second applications of hot water, but keep applying the hot soapy water and it will soften most of the bugs which can be washed off with a soft brush.
Follow up with other recommended products. I use a pad of burlap which is soft yet has enough "tooth" to remove stubborn stickies.
