Building a tow truck

That would be a cool project car, or truck. I wonder what something like that sells for. I've never been into VW's, but last year at he big Pismo beach car show I saw a couple that got me a little interested in restoring or building one. I am impatiently waiting till I retire from the military to start another car though.

Warms my heart to see these VW's First car was a '61 VW Type 1, Deluxe (beetle), then had a '64 VW and finally a VW Beetle 1500...that I used to drag race in the '60's,

Times...were generally around 20.4 seconds at 68-69 mph...not bad for a Beetle.

Just what you need to spot 5r's in the RV lot.

Funny thing about these old trucks. They were rated at 3/4 ton. I have had a couple as I grew up in a VW dealership. Wish I had kept a few of the old VWs I have owned.

I think just the hitch would make the truck overweight.

Haha! A man after my own heart! Having owned many a vw, thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Don't know about the hitch....but I have a fond spot for vintage VW Beetles and I am seeing some nice ones sitting in the background...

The hitch appears to be a bit puny. Might want to consider a heavier duty hitch.
