Built in Propane Heater thermostat not functioning

I just noticed that you said it's not a forced air system. So, you should be able to mount the sensing bulb anywhere it could sense the temp of the room, just don't mount it so close the the heater that it senses the direct heat output from the heater. Also, make sure that the cap tube isn't crimped. If it is, it could affect it's operation.
