Tuners with mild tunes are fine for towing, but I think a gear change makes more sense. Keep in mind that the max hp with gasoline engines requires Premium fuel as well.
For only 3250 or so, I think 3.73 would be enough without conceding too much fuel. I'd also go for a slightly larger exhaust more performance oriented muffler and pipes, updated catalytic converter, and higher air flow air filter or cold air intake.
According to a consumer notice from the Federal Trade Commission, using a higher-octane gasoline than your owner's manual recommends offers absolutely no benefit. It won't make your car perform better, go faster, get better mileage or run cleaner.
The 3215 weight is completely empty. It'll be over 4000 pounds when loaded. I have a cat-back system on it now with 3 inch pipes and Flowmaster mufflers. It's also got a cold air intake so it's breathing better.
The 4.11 gear was recommended for mountain towing and that's what I'll be doing in the desert southwest (Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas).
