You are on the right track. DON'T buy a vehicle without FACTORY tow package. I will guarantee you it is not the same as bolting a receiver on a non tow package.
People will also tell you that a one ton is just a 3/4 ton with heavier rear springs, they are lost.
So tell us about the trailer. If you are buying the truck first and then the trailer, you may be doing it backwards. Maybe I missed something though.
