Put it in your wallet with the eye that woman gave you last month?
  • It's easy to hide behind a keyboard and be rude to other folks. Most wouldn't do the same in person and some are afraid of a broken nose. I think it's more a sign of the times as folks seem to have much less respect for one another than it use to be. Just a half hour ago I drove to town. On the way a guy pulled out in front of me, when he looked up at me in his mirror I was about a half car link behind him and my tires sliding in the dirt, and he gives me the finger. What did I do?
  • Come on, guys! For the most part, this place is very tame for an internet forum.

Occasionally, I see someone take offense to a posting, but I think it is usually due to misunderstanding rather than flaming.

It's not a unique thing to this forum, unfortunately. People will say things that they never would in person. Gotta flex those e-muscles after all.
  • There is always that one grumpy guy at the campground, now you know what he does during the day. I'm new to this forum so really don't care what they say. I'll do what I want, and just ask for advice and opinions to learn. I've been a mod on several forums on different topics, there are always users that are rough, good intentioned but bad people skills. On the other extreame are the users that can't take any critisim.

Most users will support you and offer help. (Kermit)
Some will not agree with how your doing it and try to discourage. (has to be exactly their way, no alternatives) (Ms. Piggy)
A few grumps just don't like change and will shoot down anything and everything. (Statler and Waldorf)

  • I certainly hope that the RV'ers who do the 'shoot down and tear up' comments are nicer, more friendly and more tactful in the campground!

Here on the forum, we don't see their faces. It seems to give them boldness (and some other things).
  • I doubt it'll stop any time soon. It just goes with the territory...we're human beings, not reference material.

I would suggest, in all seriousness, to anyone who doesn't care for the bickering, to look up your own stuff using Google. Certainly not all questions, but many questions can be answered there, without ANY of the nonsense that goes on here.
  • I have been looking at this forum for about a year now. I stopped posting questions on this one and another rv forum just because of this issue. I am researching rv's for when I retire. On another forum I was basically told I can't do what I want to do because I wasn't rich enough.

Kind of makes me want to give up altogether.

    I don't like your opinion.

(I hope you realize I'm kidding LOL)

Completely agree, when opposed opinions meet some people get very nasty about it. I highly doubt that most of the outspoken people online are just as nasty in real life, likely a lot more timid.
