I have a feeling this topic is going to get a lot of interest. My wife & I are at the point in our lives where we will either have to give up our truck camper or design a way for my wife to get into and out of the cabover bed easier. I bought the wooden steps that Arctic Fox has for sale, and they are totally useless for our Arctic Fox 992 (they weren't cheap either). It definitely needs a grab handle to hold on to, and I'm thinking about a seat that can be raised and lowered with an electric motor. It would have to be removable and stored in the cabover due to the slide out.
