Bunkhouses similar to 272BHS with light hitch weight

I'll just share my experience, with a family of 5 and 1720 payload we were maxed out when we went on a 3 week trip and we only have a 3600 pound GVWR trailer. Our trailer was at 100% and we were at 101% on the rear axle and slightly under on the front. Part of this might be a single axle trailer with a large passthrough that encourages high hitch weight but I can't imagine a trailer with twice the weight being any lighter on the tongue and still safe.
