Busted Television-Any Ideas?

My 5'er came with a Jensen. After 3 years it still works fine. If it dies I'll replace it with something from Costco or elsewhere. Only issue is the cheap remote that must be pointed straight on at the TV. Will not work from any angle even just a few feet away.

Our Puma had a Haier installed in the bedroom when we got it. We have used it several years, I replaced it with a Samsung with a larger screen. Works for us...we use the Haier in the other room of the trailer.

What gets me is that a 120V 32" Jensen costs more than a 40" brand X LED TV. Why do RV MFGs insist on installing the Jensen/Furrion junk that costs more when they could be installing a better product?

They are sold cheap to RV manufactures. Then the electronics companies use peoples natural tendency to replace something broken with the same item, and jack up the price. You see it in a lot of cases, my favorite being tires. When your OEM set of tires wear out, many people go to the tire store and say "put the same thing back on" Well, the exact same tire often has had it's price jacked up! Go with another brand comparable tire or even a similar tire within the same brand and the price will be lower. When I went to replace tires on a previous car, the OEM was Bridgestone Potenza RE92, not the greatest but ok. They were $25 each MORE expensive than a superior Bridgestone model. :R

We have a 22" Insignia (Best Buy house brand) that stays mounted in the trailer, have had it for I think 7 years now. Also, since it had a external power brick and input 12V to the TV, I run directly off the 12V power port.

We have an LG, Samsung and an RCA in our RV. We've had them each for several years. They were all purchased when the one that was original died and they were on sale - cheap!

I was in the car stereo business for several years in my younger days. Jensen was always the industry joke due to its low quality. I doubt much has changed.

As far as Vizio, I had seen numerous websites about the poor quality and lack of customer support from them, but bought one anyway. Long story short, it died after only using it in the RV for one season...long enough to be out of warrantee. I'm no full timer, so actual use was pretty low. I realize any company can make a dud, but Vizio might have more than its fair share.

Had 2 Jensen TV's in this MH. Cost more than they are worth.
Go to WalMart or any place you want. By the TV that fits your pocket book. And gives you the features and picture you like.

I replaced with Visieo brand.

New Newmar Bay Star Sport came with a Visio. Find a Tv that fits the spot you have.
