Well, it took us 4 hours after leaving the main road (if that is what you want to call it) to get to the lake. A beautiful place! Gonna have some great fishing in the morning! Looking forward to a few...

I've heard/read of a few batches of shatty Ram batteries.
Haven't heard of any 2011 models. Personally I've never just replaced batteries pre emptively unless they were old and still hanging on and winter was coming.
Not sure how to answer it as you can realistically expect well over 5years out of OE batteries unless you live in the desert where they get cooked all summer. (Worst environment for battery life)
