Butyl tape or Putty tape?

yes, its the worry freak. I am heading to dealer in a little bit so i can redo that trim that the mobile guy did.. I am gonna either put butyl tape under the trim or putty tape.. and then a bead of pro-flex on top... the dealer says they use putty tape on everything and told me not to use black butyl(thats only color they have).. before i mess this up, am i better off with butyl tape or white putty tape?

    I've read some statements by other RVers that butyl tape (the smooth, even stuff) will last longer on windows and vents than putty tape (rougher, less uniform on the roll). But I have no hard data, just opinions.

    Me thinks you need to stop worrying so much and start enjoying that camper! ! ! The pictures you posted yesterday looked waterproof... and I would use Butyl tape ... but that's just me....
