I had to watch the video to see what this was all about. I dont want to beat you up but to me it would be obvious that the door isn't supposed to hold its position even when it's windy. You can tell by the way you move it that it isn't that stiff.
If it were me, I would buy one of the many available RV door holding kits and mount it over the damage - like this one linky. That would kill two birds as they say.
After I watched the video, this was my thought exactly. There is a certain amount of responsibility, we, as owners of an RV have to take. It's quite obvious wind will catch the door and cause it to swing and slam against what ever is behind it. Opening the door and securing it with one of those hooks ScottG suggested is probably the way to go to prevent wind form doing damage like this again.
We have to be careful every time we open our camper door. If the wind is blowing hard enough, the door will actually slip out of our hands and will slam into the wall behind it. It's very frustrating sometimes. But if the door caused damage to the wall, I absolutely cannot expect the manufacturer to be held responsible. It was my usage that caused it. Bad design for MY camper? Yes. But I'm also aware of it, and do all I can to avoid the door from blowing in the wind, or slamming against the wall.
I'm not sure about the manufacturer's responsibility to fix the hole and the dent in the door. I think they have spoken and that is their final word. Sometimes you just can't go any farther. Complain, post your complaints, picket with signs outside the manufacture's executive offices? It might draw their attention to start putting that stopper 1/2 inch in a different direction on future campers, but it probably will do nothing to get a resolution for you.
You're best (and least evasive) next move, should probably be to fix the issue yourself (which is exactly what you did). You are fully aware of a weakness in the design. Now it's time to adjust, move on, and enjoy camping.
