You posted this thread so you had to expect some comments, and just maybe not everybody thinks the way you do apparently including the warranty folks at Adventurer.
You're right, I did expect some comments and naturally, like most things on the internet there will always be contrary opinions.
There are many factors relative to the PDI inspection and unless you take the door and slam it against the ladder as a test, there is no way I could have determined that the bumper was out of place by an inch.
Again, an overly dramatic assessment of the issue. It is very easy to watch how the door works by pushing it to the stops. And you said that can be done with your little finger. So, why the verbosity about slamming it?
Overly dramatic is a subjective determination ... you think it is, i do not. Every camper I've had (this is our 7th) has had a physical limiter such as a gas spring, so this was totally new to me. I also mistakenly took the word of the saleman on the Adventurer web site video when he said that the door stays where you put it, it doesn't move (his exact words). This was also stated to me by the dealer. Foolish me for being so naive and trusting. If you can't understand where this is coming from, then there's no point in any further discussion
Who would do that ?
Anybody that wants to see how the door stop works. Me included.
Once again, please forgive me for not being you.
Also, just an FYI, it took me less than an hour to produce the video so no big deal on my end.
And how has that hour worked out for you? Adventurer has not settled a warranty issue with you and the video did not help?
I didn't expect the video to "help" as far as Adventurer was concerned. They were quite clear that they were not going to help. I didn't think for one second the video would affect them in any way. The video was posted simply to let others who have an 80Rb like ours to be aware of this happening and also to let others know about a company who takes little interest in customer satisfaction. Just an FYI.
The point I made in the video and the comments posted below the video are in sharp contrast to your critical point of view. Have a great day.
It would be nice if the world was a perfect place and everything worked out just the way you wanted it to. But it is not for all of us. Some things just don't go our way all the time. Move on and make this up to a learning experience. Hope you get a new door or the camper door fixed. It would be nice for you if it was fixed under warranty but more importantly is that it gets fixed. Hope somebody makes you happy with the door issue. Cheers!
I'm a retired engineer and fixing the door isn't any big deal. It doesn't bother me at all. It's an easy fix. Just because of that doesn't mean that Adventurer is right by blowing me off. As for moving on, I did that weeks ago.
Cheers to you also ... happy travels :)
