Source please. Cause everyone but the IIHS, Ford, and AutoNews seems to be mum on the issue. And if you go to the IIHS web site, the Ford is the first truck to be subject to these new tests. And none of the Supercab or standard cab from either of the manufacturers did well either.
I will say there is no excuse for not having these on all configurations. Hopefully a recall will be done to set it right.
That being said, wouldn't bother me - all of them are plenty safe compared to the "deathtraps" I grew up riding in and driving.

Source? I need to be convinced.
I knew side impact would/could be different but willfully removing/not installing vital front safety equipment due is a disgrace. 99.9% assume the crash rating refer to all models.

Ram: "All Ram Truck configurations are designed and engineered to perform equally in impact tests."
Chevrolet: "GM designs its vehicles to protect the occupants in a broad range of crashes. We also comprehend government and third-party crash test ratings, which customers use to compare vehicles. Performance in these tests is a result of the total system design of the vehicle. The new IIHS small overlap frontal test is part of our performance evaluation process. GM applies a common design approach to safety crashworthiness across all light duty pickup cab configurations."
