And where does it say that they are exactly the same for all cab configs? You could say similar verbiage about Ford as they all passed the NHTSA tests. Which they all do, from all makers.
Let's put the GM and Ram offerings under the microscope and see how they do and what is similar and what is different.
It also seems that the Extended cabs do worse as a whole than crew cabs... Take a look at these:
2007 Silverado Crew Cab
2006 Silverado Extended Cab
Seems like the extended cab did a whole lot worse.
Not making excuses as there is no reason for those braces not to be there on the non crew cab designs but my guess is it wouldn't matter any way as non Crew Cabs tend to do worse in crash ratings.
