whats the payload of your truck.
to give you an idea......
my f150 has 1950 lbs payload
my camper has a gvwr of 4,677 lbs (use this dry weight means nothing mine is 3,453 lbs and my camper is well over this and nowhere near full)
my family (wife, myself,daughter 6 son 4) weighs in around 450 lbs (this will grow with the kids)
my hitch weighs around 100 lbs
i usually have around 300 lbs of fire wood/coolers/bikes in the truck.
my tongue weight to pull nice is around 15% so 700 lbs

-700
-450
-100
-300
= 400 lbs left.
this is easy a good fit for me, pulls nice and i dont need to worry about extras and the kids can grow.
do your numbers. most half tons will be limited by this. power wise i could go much heavier, wouldnt want to go much bigger in reality.
