Each year the 6.0 received upgrades to systems...mostly to the High Pressure Oil Pump...in 2005 they changed the way the lines were attached to this pump which lessened the chance of oil leaks which caused injector issues...
I had a 2004...I replaced that engine, after spending thousands in "bulletproofing", with a very low mileage 2006 engine...I can not say whether the upgraded 06 engine was better because the turbocharger, with only 28000 miles on it, spit out some metal and took out the number 4 cylinder intake valves...end of story...I put the heads from the first motor on the second motor and said good bye...
Unfortunately for me...the Blue Oval nightmare still did not end...
