After being a die hard Ford man for years I bought the truck in my signature new and have absolutely no regrets. If I were in your position I would buy a 2013 or newer Ram 3500 with the Cummins diesel. They have no transmission issues to speak of, they have DEF which virtually eliminated the DPF and turbo clogging issues mentioned earlier, and they do NOT have the grenade prone Bosch CP4 high pressure fuel pump which Ford has used since 2011 and GM used up until 2017 I believe. If that pump goes, it can cost upwards of $15k because it trashes the entire fuel system. Some will say the failures are relatively rare, but it truly sucks if it happens to you. I have read of several on here and work with a fellow who had it happen to him as well (he traded the truck in while it was being repaired).
