That may or may not be true so be careful about believing such generalities especially with the Ford E350 series. For example my Van has a GVWR of 9,500, at max tow of 10K and a GCWR of 20K and came with an EW of under 5,400 so I could load 4K+ in passenegers/cargo and never affect the max tow of 10K and in reality would have nothing to do with how much you load cargo or passenger wise in the Van. These Vans especially the 1Ts have such HUGE cargo capacities the tow ratings can be limited by the tow package itself and not the weight of the TV.
