That applies to Fords with the tow package as well. It's "supposed" to be dealer installed upon delivery, but most of the time never leaves the plastic baggy along with the owner's manual.
BTW - this relay is for the trailer running lights. A 2nd relay is needed to activate trailer backup lights.
Now that you mention it I remember that was the case. Mine was installed before delivery so I didn't have to go thru that. However, two wires were incorrect in the connector for the trailer brake that had to be fixed IIRC. Of course all this was over 14 yrs ago so my memory of all this is somewhat fuzzy.
