Gray cat what kind of a tow vehicle do you have. One of the most common mistakes is for people to believe the TOW RATING on their vehicle.
What you need to know is your curb weight and Gross vehicle weight rating both are on the tag by the drivers door.
Subtract your curb weight from the Gross vehicle weight and that is your payload.
Your payload will include about 15% of the trailer weight(called hitch weight).
So an example would be a trailer with a weight of 6000 lbs will affect your payload about 900 lbs. Now add in your weight and the weight of all passengers pets etc anything that will be in the vehicle. That should not exceed your payload Most vehicles run out of payload way before they reach the theoretical maximum tow number. The salesman will lie to you about your towing capability so beware
