buzz noise

Try turning off your breakers one at a time to see if you can isolate the source of the noise.

okay so i switched the breaker to the converter & the buzz went away like you said. What is my solution to this annoying sound?

do you have multicolor awing lights? I found the little remote control box for mine really puts a lot of noise on the 12v supply, and I could hear it on my speakers, even listening to a CD or bluetooth (not just radio). Eventually added enough various small capacitors to the control box's power connect and killed the noise.

The strange thing also is that out of the two exterior speakers, only one is making noise.

From your description, it would seem to be an AC hum picked up by the speaker wire itself. Probably not terribly easy to fix in an RV. You could test by running a different wire from the radio to the speaker. Just on the outside through the door or window and see if the noise goes away. Of course disconnect the existing wire at both ends first.

okay so i switched the breaker to the converter to the off position & the buzz went away. so doesnt that mean its the converter? & if so is there such a thing as an inline filter that could help possibly?

Besides the converter on-off behavior through the speakers, I would also do some maintenance on the AC system. Tighten and inspect all the connections on the lug bus in the distribution panel. Make sure the ground connection to vehicle frame is sound and secure. In fact, just remove those ground connections, clean, secure correctly, and cover with some goop/grease so they don't rust. Do the same for your 12V system and all the connections.

If the above doesn't cure the buzz, you can use a ferrite around the converter output wiring to try and eliminate inductive transfer. Replacing the circuit breaker may work. Isolating the speaker from the trailer skin or surrounding it with aluminum foil may work, also.

My guess is the switching power supply in the converter is emitting EMR and it is being picked up by the speaker's wires which act as an antenna. A converter replacement may be the ultimate solution..
