B&W Patriot install question.

I'm finally getting around to installing my new hitch. I got everything in and together but somewhere along the line I lost the little paper that shows how to put the little self leveling spring-a-ma-bob on. I know it was here or I would not know it was lost. Anyone have that paper that could snap a pic of its orientation, and the measurement to tap it on at?

Thanks.
  • Almost busted my finger with the hammer putting that spring on.
  • Oops..my bad. That was the instructions I was looking for. Wonder why I couldnt find them when I was looking through that website. Thanks to you as well Helmsey
  • I checked there. I have the instructions. This little spring-a-ma-bob comes in a separate little package with a small piece of paper with a diagram on it. I lost that little paper.
  • The instructions can be found here if you'd like them:

  • Perfect. Thank you. I will go put it on right now. Tomorrow is the tow test and next weekend we are off to camping. Bring on the warm weather.
  • Hi Goostof - I don't possess picture posting skills but I looked at ours just now.

Orientation is on the front inside of the left hand riser, with the round loop of the spring touching the rubber cushion. The straight tail of the spring faces forward in the air by iself. The other end attaches to the bracket and barbed clip you tap on to the riser.

It's purpose is to hold the tail of the 5th wheel plate tilted down - the weight of the handle in the open position can cause the plate to tilt front down.
