Bye bye, diesel, hello ecoBoost

Well, things change as you all know, and we decided to forego a fifth wheel, and keep the TT for a few more years, then probably get a motorhome. So, no need to keep the diesel. Don't get me wrong, I loved it! But I just retired, and am going to sell the commuter car, and use the new truck as my daily driver. DW will be working for another three years. Ok, here's the details; certified pre-owned 2016 F150 XLT, only 13k miles on the clock. Scab with 6 1/2 foot box, 3.5 ecoboost, 3:55 gears, 6 psd trans, max tow pkg. payload is 1843 lbs, GVWR is 7050. Can't wait to tow our Jayco with it, I'm sure it'll do fine. TT GVWR is 7600. Here she is-

Very nice truck and got to love those mirrors.

Thanks all, and yeah Fish, that's what stunned me when looking at new, and used Eco trucks that are supposed to be set up for towing. Most of them had small mirrors that don't extend. Of course, salespeople are clueless. My 6.7 f350 was paid off, so i was very happy to find this almost new one at a price that had the dealer cutting me a check for the difference in value! It only had 22k on it, and they were drooling all over it when I pulled in. I'm happy, and they'll make money on it, so a good deal all around.
  • I have the exact same truck except a crew cab- you will love it and it will tow your trailer great!
  • Congrats, nice looking truck, with great tow pkg. Same gray as wife's Escape, rich color, and easy to keep clean.

  • Congrats on the new truck. Once you've actually towed with it, give us a good report. Enjoy! and happy camping!
