Cab Over Weight Limit

So I've googled this a million different ways and have looked here but i haven't found an answer. Does anyone know what the weight limit is for the cab-over section on a Lancer 815 or a typical truck camper is? I just bought one and there may be some healthy bodies sleeping up there from time to time.

And related- can you walk around in and use these things unsupported by the truck bed(just on the lifts)?

Thanks for your help!

  • I have always wondered about why the slightly tilted up thing. For me it makes more sense for sleeping comfort rather than any weight transfer to the rear for stability.
  • My cabover not only has queen size mattress that is a foot thick, but also had a storage under it, where tilting "table" was having about 4" deep storage.
I removed the storage becouse we have been hitting ceiling too often and the storage members alone were well over 100 lb.
But my camper has aluminium frame, even I did not see any aluminium in the nose.
  • you might want to put down some wood squares for the jacks to land on to disperse the load on soft ground to keep the jack pads from sinking in, 12"x12" by at least 1" thick

As for use off the truck on just the Jacks. For Lance Campers the answer is yes. However lower the Camper as far as you can on the jacks making sure not to hit the ground with any part of the camper underside and keeping the camper slightly nose high.

As far as folks in the cab overgoes I would expect that it can hold any two that can climb up there
