A lot of private campgrounds/ koas etcs, private park have cable access. Usually limited in whats being output over wires both in selection & quality. Often not worth the time hooking up, but no box required.
Still odd- even if not used, for the few dollars it would cost to add external connection when built verses the effort to add later.
