- jimh406Explorer IIIThe cable box required has more to do with scrambling. I'm not sure how cable companies provide a workaround for rv parks, but I've never needed a box for lower channels which would include major networks.
- AnEv942NomadA lot of private campgrounds/ koas etcs, private park have cable access. Usually limited in whats being output over wires both in selection & quality. Often not worth the time hooking up, but no box required.
Still odd- even if not used, for the few dollars it would cost to add external connection when built verses the effort to add later. - hedgeExplorerI just went out and confirmed that there is no hookup under the wing. The Adventurer has a 'service center' with everything behind one door, that would be the logical place for the connection.
I also took off the tv access panel in the upper cabinet and I can see that the 'cable in' connection is not connected.
the cables are labeled as such:
-Cable in
-Radio out
-Tv2 out
-Antenna in (the only one connected, to the roof antenna)
Up here you need a cable box to get any signal, not just premium channels. The cable company stopped broadcasting analog some time ago. - eagle777Explorercable boxes are for premium channels, some campgrounds do have cable hookups but its just normal channels..
- hedgeExplorerMaybe someone can educate me on how it's used:
Wouldn't you need a cable box or something anyways? or does the campground itself broadcast an analog signal? Up here it would be more useful to hookup an external sat dish. I've had it on my last two trailers but never used it, I've never seen a hookup in any campground I've been in.
If I remember correctly when I had the access panel off, I don't think it was connected to anything just sitting there. If I have time today I'll pull off the panel and check again.
It would be relatively easy to add to the service bay, I'd pull out the pot drawer to see the backside access to the service center. The cable can then be ran up the wall beside the shower up behind the microwave (would have to be removed) and along the top of the cabinet to the TV. - RettrooperExplorer

Not prewired for cable? has external antenna?- Ours, external hookup is mounted on under side of wing. 2013 Id contact mfg unless someone knows where it is, if it has one, could be anywhere. On our old MH it was on ceiling of exterior cabinet.
I have an Eagle Cap and mine is under the driver's side wing. - kerry4951Explorer

I have the same camper. Assuming you mean an external hookup I'm pretty sure it doesn't have one.
Really?? I always figured most owners would atleast expect optional access to cable TV in any new hard sided TC. I am surprised to hear that. - eagle777Explorermy 2013 86fb also is not prewired and I checked the website it is not listed as being prewired. I contacted adventure for a wiring diagram and pipe layout so I would miss those items while drilling a hole, they did not respond. I am going to drill whole up through the closet. if you make your cable you can drill a smaller hole and they are easy to make all you have to do is add the connectors.

- jimh406Explorer IIII have a Host. Mine is in the compartment where the power cord is. It has a round cover about the size of a water hose. Lift the flap and the access to the coax is there.
