Cadillac New Engine

Here's a picture of Cadillac's new EcoBoost errr I mean new twin turbo, DI V6 engine.

Wonder how long will it take GM to put this under the hood of a truck?

Wonder why Cadillac didn't copy the ED?

Doesn't anyone remember when Cadillac came out with their 4-6-8 engine several years ago?

That one came out with huge hype talk of incredible gas mileage savings and just the right amount of power when needed...and was just as quickly put back to bed never to be heard of again.

I think the Cadillac 4-6-8 engine came out more than several years ago. More like about 3 decades or so ago.

Seams that Cadillac's idea 30 years ago has now been adopted with good success since the technology has improved to support such a idea.

What a pathetic comment. I guess that’s all he has left.

Looks like it's a reverse flow design?

I'm not sure I'm following you. The turbo's are mounted just like the Eco Boost or are you talking about reverse coolant flow?

I did notice it has a water to air intercooler which I like better than an air to air intercooler.
  • There still the CTS-V with 540 HP V8. We just purchased a CTS with 4 cylinder with a turbo and love it. We are getting 28 to 29 miles per gallon on the highway with enough pep for us.

Except for RWD muscle car applications, is the V8 heading the way of the dinosaur in passenger cars??

    :h

    Yes

........but I'm sure it'll hang around for some time yet in Limited Edition trim options.

    Haven't owned a V8 passenger car since I had a '85 Mustang GT.
