Lines are there for a reason. To prevent accidents.
I can't tell you how many times I've had to avoid people in my lane while riding my motorcycle. On many occasions on tight corners, cars will really cut the corner and be totally in the oncoming lane.
Seems like some people just think this is normal and OK. Very annoying and dangerous.
I do agree Cal. Has some pretty high fines though.
