Seems to me that the CHP was doing their job. Yes, revenue is a factor but if driving behavior can be changed with a warning, do so. If not, write the ticket. Seems like a warning would not have been a solution as you indicate there is no understanding of what you were doing. What if you met another vehicle coming around a winding road at the same time you were? Or worst yet, as happened in Yellowstone a month ago, a motorcyclist crept over the center line just a bit and was tagged by a vehicle doing what you were cited for. Take the lesson and put it into action and be more aware of your lane placement.
I know for me, I need to watch that even more, with pulling a trailer. Glad you posted your story here so others can learn from your situation and understand that there are others out there that feel getting out of their lane is O.K., or not a problem. Which means there are more drivers to worry about out there and more revenue to generate for California.
