- Grit_dogNavigator II^Think about the validity of that last statement and tell me it’s not just a sales pitch. That’s absolutely ridiculous and of zero benefit to the power company. Seriously.
- ThermoguyExplorer III recently read where Portland OR will ban the sale of Diesel gas at all stations within the city limits by 2025. There is a push to change peoples attitude and driving habits. In Portland, if your not riding your bike, you are killing the trees...
I also read a promising story that a new battery technology is on the horizon with aluminum as its base - lighter, more power and faster charging vs Lithium, now to see if they can make it a reality.
I also read where Duke Energy is giving incentives for F150 Lightning owners a discount on their vehicle lease to sell power back to the grid during the day when power rates are higher. As mentioned before, EV's are the new power bank for the modern energy grid... - mkirschNomad II

Just buy out of state.
More than likely the legislation will not allow you to register a gas car made after the 2035 model year in California.
They are already "banning" pre-emissions commercial trucks from what I've seen. A youtube channel I watch based in Idaho ended up buying a dump truck off a friend in California because it could not be registered there due to being too old and not meeting emissions requirements. They could not even drive it out of the state. It had to be loaded up and hauled by a "compliant" truck.
Seen a couple other similar examples of guys picking up oldish 10-wheelers, road tractors, etc. out of California because they weren't emissions compliant. - FlatBrokeExplorer II

California banned common sense long ago.
This foolishness is expected to be the model for a national mandate dictated by the EPA sometime next year if the current mismanagement remains in place.
Two thumbs up from me! - tomman58ExplorerWe had a Volt once, loved it. I tried to buy the Cadillac but the earliest I could get in line is 2024. I have always had American cars and trucks but looks like I may go to VW for electric, time will tell.
- shelbyfvExplorer;)There are a few here who tow with EVs but I don't think the rest of us will brag about our "carbon footprint."

Just saw in the news today that They are shutting down EV chargers in certain cities in China so they can have electric for the households. Just what do you think is going to happen when the Hoover dam stops making electric because there are too many people living off of that pool of water in the desert?
Excellent comment sir. Tell it like it is. I agree completely. Let the fur fly. - Just saw in the news today that They are shutting down EV chargers in certain cities in China so they can have electric for the households. - NamMedevac_70Explorer IIScoobydoo I like your excuse for letting the other big polluting countries have free ride on continued global air pollution. I do not share your guilt complex of blaming America first for everything. And except for this forum I think most Americans would agree with me. Compared to the jet set crowd and some RVers my carbon footprint is very small indeed. I now fish and camp without the small TT. No hypocrite here bubba joe just the facts. Cheers

Side note: As of 2025 banks in Australia will no longer write loans on new gasoline powered vehicles. Makes you wonder how a country that sometimes struggles to meet normal electric needs will handle an almost instant influx of electric vehicles.
That is a little misleading, one Aussie bank is said to have such a policy, however it was not one of the big banks, in fact I'd never heard of it.
