GM's plan is to go all trucks and SUV's. They are discontinuing all car production. That's where the money is now. When gas prices raise and no one buys them, GM will need another bail-out. Stupid move, but I'm not getting paid millions of dollars a year like GM execs.
Ford is doing the same thing.
Camaro was always a 25 and under thing, so no real loss to see it go. Sad to see them ruin Corvette over time though, they really screwed the pooch on that one.
I've mostly had GM since '67, with a few Fords. But given both their stated direction for the future, I'm ...reluctantly...looking at vehicles now from Honda, Lexus and Nissan for our next vehicle. I was an intensely brand loyal customer, but I don't see anything that Ford/GM markets to meet my needs.
I saw the new Blazer in a GM showroom (getting my oil changed) and I couldn't tell the difference between that and Equinox...in looks. The differential is in the price . I can't see why anyone would spend more money to buy something that looks so similar, but I guess GM has a plan.
