Camper escape

I have a 1055 Lance with a emergency escape out the side window in cab over bunk area. I was thinking that I should have one of those roll out chain latters at the ready. Is this what everybody else uses (who has the same escape hatch location) for their descent?

    If you have to use that escape hatch during an emergency you will NOT have the time to roll out the chain ladder.

    Just jump, fall, flip-flop..whatever is necessary to get out and then run, roll, crawl, scoot as far away as possible.
