Camper Garage Progress Report

Shop/garage project took on some real progress today with the roof getting framed out. The roof frames were assembled on the ground and winched into place. Contractor said that project should be done by mid next week.

  • Today is button up day with the finishing of hanging the big doors. Here are a few progress shots.

It looks good. The posts are a little long...

Yep. Pole barns are always built like that when I've seen them. Once the roof framing is done, then the cut off the posts to match the roof angle/height.

The excess post pieces make good blocks for under a trailer jack. That's what I used mine for
  • Cal, all wood. The main posts were all treated posts with the old arsenic green. The 4" X 6" door framing was the brown treated wood.
  • Nice and high == great. Interesting roof construction. That way, they didn't have to fight the individual trusses and brace each of them. Are there some steel poles and some wood or is that a viewer delusion?
  • Interesting. I've never seen the roof framed on the ground and winched into place.

It makes a lot of sense to do it that way.

Please, keep us updated on the finished building.
