camper jack/slide remote control

I need a new control for my jacks and slide, the current one is shot and no longer available. I see Happijac has a wireless control system for the jacks and slide. Just wondering if any one out there has this system and how satisfied you are with the product? thanks
  • Remote is a blast. I have factory one on my camper and don't remember replacing battery in it in 3 years we own the camper.
Still I hear they fail or get driven over.
PO made velcro hanger for it next to the door, so running over is less likely, but having no wired backup, I keep the manual crank handy.
Personally I think wireless is overkill as I don't like to have batteries and 10' coiled cord would do the same job, but even my inflatable mattress come with remote, where manual switch is 1 foot from my head.
  • I got a wireless remote and like it a lot.

I'm able to move around the truck without getting tangled up.
I did loose one, camper luckily came with a back up wireless under the sink, ordered a new one, $$$$, and then found the lost one, so now have 3, one in truck, one in the side dump valve area and the back up to the back-up under the sink.

But they work fine, sometimes the buttons get a little sensitive and have to press again, but works great.

Just a heads up, camper jack batteries need to be charged as I'm sure everyone knows, but I figured I had the camper generator to back up, that is until I ran out of Propane to run the generator... (Newbie lesson's learned deal) Luckily, letting the battery rest a little and charge with solar, I was able to get it going again...

Camper came with the two remotes, never tried anything else...
    Hope that helps.
  • Thanks for the comments guys.

I agree the remote controlled ones are great. My factory installed one died and is obsolete and unavailable. I'm considering the Happijac system. I was just trolling for thoughts on their system.
  • Bill, I assume since you have a Lance, the jacks are Atwood, correct?

Gamma Electronics made the wired and wireless controls for the Atwood jacks that Lance used, and it appears they still have the control module and keypads available.

Take a look at their on-line store (about half-way down the page) and give them a call.

    :):)
  • NRALIFR I did look at their website this weekend but did not see the remote I have. The ones they show do not have the accessory output for the camper's slide. But I am going to call them anyway.
    Thanks
