I don't think they call it a camper package any more. It seems they have switched over to a numbering system or HD.
The camper package was overload/helper springs, trans cooler, wiring for trailer/camper, more powerful alternator, bigger oil filter, power steering cooler, hitch plus other common components needed for towing or carrying a camper.
Now it seems you order items individually or they come in something like the Z71, LongHorn package
Ditto.
On GM trucks, the only thing (as far as I know) that uses the word "camper" with regard to special items is a camper wiring harness. It's a wire harness run forward from the trailer plug to the front of the bed, so you can hook up a 5th wheel or camper wiring. You install your own plug. The wires are tied up against the frame rail.
When I bought my 2009, that was the ONLY option the truck didn't have. This is when I found out the camper harness is piggybacked off the trailer plug with a T connector.
The 2002 2500HD I traded in on the 09 had the camper harness, so I stole it of my 2002 and installed it on the 09. Plug and Play.
