I don't rely on the rubber bumpers on the camper. I've seen cases of them damaging the truck bed.
I also us a piece of lumber as my spacer. It's a 2x6 cut down to about 4 1/2" in width, with two of them stacked on top of each other, wrapped in a piece of carpet.
