Your money will go a lot further in Canada this summer but fuel is a lot more expensive. Coming the route you are proposing means driving through Toronto.
This is not fun! I see you are from Chicago so at least your are used to busy roads. Time your journey for early on a Sunday morning or between 10 am and 2 pm other times. This is an extremely busy stretch of highway.
