Also in Asheville is Campfire Lodgings, very quiet with awesome views of the city from their prime sites. Pricey but excellent. Full hkups + cable.
Waynesville has Creekwood Farms, adult oriented.
There are several national park campgrounds if you want to dry camp: Elkmont, Smokemont, Davidson River, Deep Creek come to mind. Bryson City is a great little town with several different campgrounds that include Deep Creek Tube Center & Campground. Has full hkups.
Tanglewood is located near great golfing. Small, wooded, nice set up. As said, close to stores, etc.
Campgrounds are near Cherokee if you want more commercial type.
