Times change. yes, Cherry Mountain and Gale River Roads have non-traditional sites, but one is limited to using one of the established sites on those roads. And users do need to obtain/display a WMNF parking pass - so not free. Tripoli Road (was just across there a couple weeks ago) has maybe 2 sites suitable to get a vehicle on - those sites are primarily walk-in. Even roadside parking is far from level - good luck with running a fridge unless it is a compressor. Fee is $5/ night, IIRC. NOT what folks from other areas may consider "boondocking". Best to call to confirm dump stations - most sources still list one at Clark's in North Woodstock. That has been closed for years. The Mobil station in Lincoln has one - $. NONE of the established CG's have a dump station. I stand by my previous comments - VERY limited boondocking and NO dump stations at Forest Service CG's. But what do I know - I only live here... Still a nice place to visit, tho! ST
